How to Make a Wristlet in no Time
Here goes my first blog!!!
Hi all!!! Today is the day I finally decided that I start a blog. Everyday when I wake up I'll tell myself that I was going to start one today but, I get distracted really badly and I feel the urge to sew something especially when I look at my fabric stash and that's how my day goes .
Today without any further procrastination I made up mind to start a blog while my inner mind is still asking me about how this is happening and I've decided to completely ignore it.😝
Well,I have made vinyl wristlet strap for my new pattern Duo wallet .You can follow the same tutorial to make a woven fabric wristlet. So, here goes the tutorial !!!
Vinyl Wrist Strap
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
1) Cut 1: 2”
x 14” vinyl rectangle.
2) 1/2" (12 mm) Swivel snap hook.
3) One rivet
(optional).
In this tutorial I will show you how to make
open end vinyl strap.
● Use
a pencil to draw a center line on the wrong side of the rectangle. Apply a small
amount of glue on the center line.
● Fold the raw edges towards the center marked line and clip.
● Again fold the edges together as shown below and clip.
Add the Swivel Hook:
● Slide a swivel hook on to the strap.
● Open out the ends of the strap with right sides together, clip to hold in place. Make sure the straps are not twisted. Sew the edges together about ¼” seam allowance.
● Refold the strap and clip together along the open edge.
● Top stitch about 1/8” from the folded edge, moving the swivel hook out of the way as you go, going all the way around the loop. Repeat on the other folded edge.
● Sew the loop close, going back and forth across the strap, staying close to swivel hook. Sew near the seam created when joining the strap ends together.
● I have used rivet for an added look.
● Instead of using the D ring I have used the zipper pulls hole to attach the strap to the wallet with the swivel hook.
Tada!!!! My strap is ready to attach it on my wallet 😊
